CHARITY
JAS Hair Group have been supporting local charities for a number of years . More recently we have been dedicating our time to The Stars Appeal based at Salisbury Hospital and to date we have raised over £7,000 .

The Stars Appeal raises money to create the best possible experience for the 300,000 people who rely on Salisbury District Hospital. It funds extra care and equipment over and above that provided by the NHS. The Appeal benefits all wards and departments. It also raises money for major projects.

Our team have been truly outstanding their committment raising money for such a worthwhile charity. We strongly believe in supporting a local cause and our thanks go to Dave Cates and his team at the hospital for their support

Raising Money during 2011

So, here we have it, drum roll please . . . . . . £10,000 raised during 2011.
JAS Hair Salon Group donated to the Pembroke Unit at Salisbury Hospital a massive £9898.48, £2000 of which was raised from the Salisbury Fashion Fortnight, which was jointly organised with Ladies who Love . . . Events.

This is an amazing achievement for all concerned and we send a huge thank you to everyone that has been so kind and donated. We would also like to congratulate JAS Hair on having raised such a huge amount themselves - the highlight of their years' fundraising being a trek across the Sahara Desert. Well done and thanks again to you all for donating and supporting.

THERES NOTHING PLAIN ABOUT SALISBURY BUT THE TALENT
Our Company Director and Founder of SHOOT DHS Models, David Hill-Souch, was elated to be invited as judge for the “Face of Salisbury”, where he and four other judges had the very difficult task of whittling down 30 model hopefuls to a single winner.

David said “I've had a fantastic evening judging in Salisbury at The Chapel Nightclub. As head judge, I had a hugely difficult decision to make – not only do you have to imagine the model in a variety of work, you have to look past the façade to see if they have the passion and right attitude for the modelling industry. The models were of an excellent quality and we actually crowned two models as the winners of the Face of Salisbury”.

"Eve came across incredibly confident on the catwalk and beared striking resemblence to Kate Middleton she would simply make a wonderful Bridal and Hair model, Whilst Graeme is quirky, I really loved his unique look and personally think that he will go down a storm in London for editorial features".

We are delighted to welcome “Eve and Graeme” who have now been signed by SHOOTDHS Model

October 2011 Challenge - The Sahara Desert 100km

The JAS Hair Salon Team took on their biggest challenge to date ! We have jumped out of planes, visited the second most haunted house in the UK and to top all this in October 2011 Jayne, Sarah, Karin (Wilton Salon), Chloe, Annabelle (Salisbury Salon) and Julia (client) all went off to the Sahara Desert to walk 100km and raise money for the Stars Appeal.

The Sahara desert stretches from the snow capped High Atlas mountains of Morocco in the west, to the Red Sea coast 4800km to the East.
Its landscape varies from a stony flat expanse to perfect wind blown sand dunes, broken only by the occasional oasis. The feeling of space and of solitude is awesome.
With proud Berbers as our guides and a small caravan of camels to carry our supplies we will trek 100km through this varied and stunning landscape.

Jayne, owner of Jas Hair, "this was our biggest challenge to date and we all trained walking over 30 miles a week. It was really hard work but I think we are extremely lucky with the fantastic countryside around us. The heat was the most difficult element for us along with not being able to wash our hair !"
